Community Outreach Programs
Helping Honduras Kids subsidizes a Stay In School outreach program that encourages boys and girls (elementary and high school ages) to remain in school. This program helps to pay some of the costs for families that otherwise could not afford to send their children to attend school. In Honduras, it costs approximately $75-$150 a year to pay for a child to be enrolled in school for one full year. HHK provides school supplies (backpacks, notebooks, calculators, etc) and school uniforms, as well as subsidizing part of the costs for school and to ride the school bus. Many large families, especially in rural areas, have to make a choice which family members get to attend school. Often times they can only afford for their sons to attend school. Girls often stay home, due to poor economic conditions. HHK needs your donations to help these under-privileged children to attend school. HHK currently is paying for transportation costs for some of the children who live near the La Ceiba dump. Your donation to HHK reaches many children and especially promotes school attendance at the Jungle School. It also helps us support local poor families in the surrounding areas and mountains who would not otherwise be able to feed themselves or their children on a regular basis. It is simple, just click on the Donation-Net box to the right and make a tax-deductible donation to change the life of a Honduran child or family today.

Helping Honduras Kids believes that opportunity, education, hope and love are what children need to break the cycle of poverty and abuse. A loved, educated and happy child in Honduras has a real chance to succeed! | | |
