If you're curious what you can bring, here's a list hot off the presses (sort of) from one of our volunteers at the Hogar de Amor. Many thanks to Nathan L. for putting this together!
Hey!!
Oh my gosh is it ever raining right now!!! I am so wet and even my list I made you got wet!! haha
Okay, here it is…
* We are out of Girl's DEODERANT
* We are in need of underwear for all the kids, we could never have enough-especially for the youngest ones like Joel and Carolina
* Small socks - all the kids need socks, but the youngest need them the most
* DUCT TAPE - we`ll take as much as you can get!!
* Liquid hand soap. Hand pumping preferably
* Some sort of filing system like plastic folders or cubbies or something for the kids to keep papers and important things, this will be kept in the volunteer room
* LICE SHAMPOO, we can never have enough!!!
* LICE COMBS Try to get your hands on the nice metal ones. They work so much better and we only have one
* A largish in size blackboard for La Bamba.
* COLORING BOOKS - Dave came by and completely cleaned us out!
* kindergarden writing paper - the kind with the top and bottom lines and the middle dotted lines
* puzzles - could always use some more for La Bamba and other projects as well, and ours are getting a
little worn with some missing pieces
* TOWELS - beach towels, hand towels, shower towels, cleaning towels, ANY AND ALL KINDS OF TOWEL!! haha
* cleaning supplies such as paper towels and rags
* ARTS & CRAFTS such as string, beads, felt, cloth for sewing, rope, construction paper, yarn
